I’ve seen many stage productions, and I think most of the film versions. The Kenneth Branagh is magnificent, but it took me five nights to watch it. It was so intense and long that I couldn’t handle more than an act per night.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341752236357006509.post-46306247921878754322018-09-19T18:55:20.844-04:002018-09-19T18:55:20.844-04:00I can definitely see that. I'm listening to Richard III with my 13 yr old but we'd read Josephine Tey's 'The Daughter of Time' beforehand & the contrast between the two different portrayals of Richard makes it hard to enjoy Shakespeare's version.Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06820925595506920754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341752236357006509.post-2039898295448336242018-09-18T19:25:45.714-04:002018-09-18T19:25:45.714-04:00Shakespeare could have figured something out.Shakespeare could have figured something out.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341752236357006509.post-8810573902607875452018-09-18T18:16:41.236-04:002018-09-18T18:16:41.236-04:00Wouldn't be much of a play then though.Wouldn't be much of a play then though.Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00466108789532345790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-341752236357006509.post-32433948436099898212018-09-18T10:40:31.478-04:002018-09-18T10:40:31.478-04:00I would say "Unfortunately, the victim king r...I would say "<i>Unfortunately</i>, the victim king returns as a ghost." Because Hamlet was melancholy and broody before the Ghost arrives, suspicious of his uncle, angry about his mom's remarriage... but not vengeance-driven. Every bloody deed for the rest of the play results from Hamlet believing the Ghost.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.com
