He can be comic at times, but is seldom absurd. I seem to recall reading this is his most comic novel. So keep that in mind. I love CD, but I cannot yet vouch that The Pickwick Papers is up to his usual standard. Hope to read chapter 2 and have a posting finished tomorrow. Absurdism is the word that came to my mind upon reading the first chapter.
