What did you think of Kerouac's On the Road? I read his Dharma Bums and, to my complete surprise, really enjoyed it. I have been looking at OtR for awhile and have been wondering if it's worth the effort. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I didn't like it at all. If you like Dharma Bums, you might lit OtR, but I have no idea if there is any similarity in style, theme, or content. My full review: http://100greatestnovelsofalltimequest.blogspot.com/2011/11/on-road-by-jack-kerouac-1957-4-down-96.html

I'm with you on Ulysses, I thought it was awful myself, and a complete and utter waste of my time. Half of the time I couldn't even figure out what the book was really about. Definitely not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I'm not the only one. Thanks for the feedback.
