Teaser Tuesdays (Cinco de Mayo, 2015)

“After that we had a diminished family life, as though it were care of Georgie that had been the main basis of household union and now everything was disturbed. We looked in different directions, and the old woman had outsmarted herself.”

The Adventures of Augie March by Saul Bellow

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title and author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  1. I love your blog name and the way you combined it from two different poems. I have heard of Saul Bellow's book before but I've never read it. Your teaser makes me more curious so I should probably get on it! I'm a new follower! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great week!

  3. I like the way in a couple of sentences he summed up the way some households are put together and fall apart. United when there is a cause/problem that needs to be faced and sort of dissolved when the problem passes. My Teaser

  4. I've heard of Saul Bellow but haven't read any of his books. This sounds like a good one.

  6. Thank you all for the feedback. I can't say I'm loving The Adventures of Augie March yet (not even 100 pages in), but it is growing on me.
