Teaser Tuesdays (December 1, 2015)

“People who had grown feeble had been physically destroyed. That, in Africa, was not new; it was the oldest law of the land.”

from A Bend in the River by V.S. Naipaul

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

  1. This is one of my all-time favorite books. I first read it a loooooong time ago and I still think about it.

  2. I've never read anything by VS Naipaul and I think I should have. Your "Tease" has prompted me to add A Bend in the River to my waiting to be read list. Thankyou. My Tuesday Teaser is from a charming novella with a lovely Christmas setting.

  5. Sounds like a fascinating story - one that would stay with you long after you finished reading it.
My Tuesday post features the Rawhide ‘n Roses anthology.

  6. True and sad at the same time. I hope you are enjoying the book. My teaser this week comes from Secret Sisters by Jayne Ann Krentz. Happy reading!

    1. I agree the teaser is rather compelling, but I'm actually not loving this so far. I'm only half way through, so it may win me over yet.
