Gravity's Rainbow by Robert Pynchon

Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon

After reading one-third of the book, and for reasons that seem good to me, I've decided to eliminate this from my reading list (see rule #6). I will skip to the next novel which now becomes number 47, and all others shift up, and I'll add an alternate to the end of the list.

  1. I actually liked this book. It was weird and I get why you disqualified it for Rule #6 because the content is definitely graphic. I liked some of the themes though which seemed to me to be about whether their was such a thing as fate or whether we could control our destiny. I am currently reading Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon which isn't quite as dirty, but still just as weird. I don't know if I like this one or not but it is taking me forever and has put me behind on the Novel 100 list. (This book is on 1001 books to read before you die.)

    1. Hey Miranda...sorry I missed this at the time. I was really close to continuing with this, and just as you can see why I put it down, I can see why you continued. I'm sure you've finished Against the Day now. I'm in a looooong read: War and Peace. Undecided so far.
