March 14: Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR - well that's easy enough.
I probably won't finish this before the first day of Spring. Excellent so far.
And no idea what to expect with this either. (My favorite way to begin a book btw)
Vanity Fair, in case you can't read that. A reread, that I am looking forward to. Loved it the first time.
I started and DNF years ago. Ready to give it a second chance. I remember it starts rather slow. Someone tell me it is fascinating later.
I enjoyed my one other experience with Evelyn Waugh (Brideshead Revisited), so I am looking forward to this. BTW - Evelyn Waugh is a dude.
And no expectations, first experience with RPW.
Great books! I hope that you will enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI've read Les Miserables twice now, but it's been awhile. Maybe I'll see if there's a really good audio version!
ReplyDeleteWow...twice! Even though I'm enjoying it, I doubt I'll ever reread it.
DeleteImpressive list. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Crime and Punishment. Cannot wait to reread it someday. (I am reading TBK right now.)
ReplyDeleteGood to know. Looking forward to C&P even more now. In return, I loved The Bros K.
DeleteGreat list!! I am reading TBK right now and it is MINDBLOWING!I love Vanity Fair and A Handful of Dust and I agree with you on James! I look forward to your review on Tistram Shandy...I am kind of nervous about it so I need some thoughts!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback. I agree Bros K is superb.
DeleteMy apologies to: Lisbeth Ekelhof. I accidentally hit "Delete" when I meant to hit "Publish" for your comment. You wrote: Quite an ambitous list. Crime and Punishment is great, as is Vanity Fair. Not as difficult to read as one can imagine. I love Henry James, so no problem there. Graham Greene is also a sure choice, although I have not read that one. Evelyn Waugh I don't find that easy, except for favourite Brideshead Revisited. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSo...thanks for the feedback.
DeleteLovely reading ahead of you--I absolutely love Vanity Fair, I've read it twice and feel I could read it a few more times at least. I have a copy of All the King's Men--you may inspire me to finally read it.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading...except for the James, I just can't read the man.
Thanks Jane. I'll let you know about ATKM. Must be you didn't do this TTT, I couldn't find yours if you did.
