Teaser Tuesdays (June 9, 2015)

“It was a cold morning, and he shivered a little; but he had been taught by his uncle that his prayers were more acceptable to God if he said them in his nightshirt than if he waited till he was dressed. This did not surprise him, for he was beginning to realize that he was the creature of a God who appreciated the discomfort of his worshippers.”

Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

    1. Indeed. The main character has already evolved beyond this belief, but not to something better. I am not certain I'll be a big fan of this book when finished. But it is a microcosm of life...there are some that believe very much along these lines, so it is interesting to learn of their pathos even in fiction.
