Teaser Tuesdays (October 27, 2015)

“When you love you wish to do things for. You wish to sacrifice for. You wish to serve.” ~ Rinaldi
“I don’t love.” ~ Lieutenant Henry

from A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

(Yeah, I cheated. It’s more than two sentences.)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  2. Let's face it — 2 sentences hardly ever does it. Mine are almost always more but I rationalize it that if the author had just used punctuation differently . . . Oh, well. Here's my teaser from Dashiell Hammett's The Continental Op: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-Zp

  3. I haven't read this one since high school which was quite a while ago. The teaser on my adult blog comes from a new military thriller - Tenacity by J. S. Law. Happy reading!

  4. A classic. I'm asking myself why I've never read this book!
My Tuesday post features Shem Creek.

  5. I'm in favour of extra sentences! :D
I need to read some Ernest Hemingway asap and since I need a Pulitzer Prize winning-book to complete my PopSugar 2015 Reading Challenge I may as well bump 'The Old Man and the Sea' to the top of the list ^^
I guess what I'm saying is thank you for the reminder!

    1. You're welcome. I've only read three works by Hemingway, and have not yet read The Old Man and the Sea, but some people whose reviews I respect gave it good marks.

  6. One of my daughter's favorite books, and a classic that I have yet to read. This quote is so Hemingway!

    1. I have very mixed feelings on Hemingway. This is good so far. I didn't like The Sun Also Rises, but I did like For Whom the Bell Tolls.
