adaptation: I’m going to go out on a limb and say the 1963 rendition of Tom
Jones (though I have not yet watched it). It won four Academy Awards, including
Best Picture, and was nominated for 6 more.
Worst film
adaptation: 2002 version of The Count of Monte Cristo
This looks like a great list. I've read some, others not. I've never read Muriel Spark. I wonder if Martin Amis is related to Kingsley Amis. I love Kingsley; he's hilarious! I'll have to look him up.
ReplyDeleteI read the Count of Monte Cristo in college and did not like the protagonist, but maybe with the eyes of maturity I need to read it again.
Yep, Martin is Kingsley's son. I also liked Kingsley...Lucky Jim, but Martin and Money, not so much.
