Who said it? Wednesday, December 16, 2015

Who said it?

A doughty gentleman lies here
A stranger all his life to fear
Nor in his death could Death prevail
In that last hour to make him quail
He for the world but little cared
And at his feats the world was scared
A crazy man his life he passed
But in his senses died at last

Starting with an easy one. Name the novel or the character (extra credit for both) First to get it right wins the privilege of being known as the first to get it right.

Of course, RT is correct...this is from Don Quixote, and about Don Quixote. RT gets extra credit for naming Samson Carrasco as the one who came up with DQ's epitaph.

  1. And the winner is . . . Don Quixote.
I really must get around to reading it again someday. Thanks for the reminder.

  2. But the "who said it" is better answered with the name, "Samson Carrasco."
